Job summary

Kroger in Washington is seeking a department associate to create outstanding customer experiences through service and a safe, clean environment. You will support daily department operations, assist customers, answer questions about products, and ensure shelves and displays are well merchandised.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to health and civil codes.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions or suggestions.
• Understand the store layout and locate products.
• Inform associates about promotions and ads affecting the department.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and report discrepancies.
• Follow scheduled shift operating hours.
• Demonstrate effective merchandising.
• Perform cashier functions and operate POS.
• Follow merchandising, customer service, labor control, expense and safety policies.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs.
• Notify management of accidents and safety risks.
• Report theft or fraud as applicable.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with/without accommodation.
