Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate to join our team in Spalding, Michigan. You will help customers, handle transactions, and keep the store stocked and clean. The role requires a friendly, proactive approach and reliable attendance in a part-time capacity.

You will assist with unloading merchandise, stocking shelves, and maintaining a safe shopping environment. Prior retail or service experience is preferred, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and handle frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain store cleanliness, restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat.
