Job summary

Family Dollar in Berryville, VA is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to help shoppers and maintain a welcoming store environment. You will assist customers, operate the register, stock shelves, and ensure merchandise is properly replenished.

The role emphasizes friendly, professional interactions, teamwork with store leaders, and adherence to safety and loss-prevention procedures. Prior retail or service experience is preferred, and you will be expected to lift items and move stock

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
