Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to join our Bronx, NY team and deliver a positive shopping experience for every customer. You will assist customers, manage transactions, and help maintain store cleanliness and safety across all areas.

The role requires lifting 30–50 lbs and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with a focus on teamwork, reliability, and friendly interactions with customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and assist with unloading trucks and stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and colleagues.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including restrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
