Job summary

Family Dollar in New York is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to deliver a great shopping experience. You will assist customers, process transactions at the register, and help keep the store stocked and clean.

You will protect cash and assets, support unloading trucks, and maintain a safe, respectful environment for customers and team members. Prior retail or service experience is preferred. This role requires physical effort and flexible hours to meet productivity standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and handle frequent walking and standing.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
