Job summary

Teamshares seeks a hands-on Financial Controller to support its growing portfolio of retail companies. You will partner with presidents and employee-owners to drive financial clarity, optimize operations, and support strategic decisions.

You’ll own the full accounting cycle, from A/P to payroll, and lead inventory oversight with an emphasis on profitability and systems improvement. The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, multi-location retail experience, and a proactive, independent work style.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years in Controller or Senior Accounting role.
• Proven experience in retail accounting, multi-location operations preferred.
• Small to mid-size business experience; fractional/outsourced accounting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle accounting including A/P, A/R, GL, and payroll.
• Manage month-end and year-end closes with reconciliations and accruals.
• Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, and shrinkage control.
• Produce financial statements and dashboards for leadership.
• Develop and implement process improvements across systems and reporting workflows.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and KPI delivery.
