Job summary

TJX Companies in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Construction Project Lead to oversee miscellaneous construction and signage initiatives across Marshalls, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Homesense and Sierra. You will help manage schedules, select General Contractors and Sign Vendors, and coordinate project documents and proposals.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in construction-related fields, strong organization and communication skills, ability to read blueprints, and experience handling multiple projects

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Construction, Facilities, Store Planning, Fixturing, Architectural Design, or related construction trades is preferred.
• Strong organization and project planning skills are necessary.
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal) are a must.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects at any one time.
• Highly self-motivated, works well in a team environment.
• Understanding and ability to read blueprints, specifically Floor Plans, Elevations, and Site Plans.
• Strong knowledge of store layouts, HVAC, electrical and plumbing criteria would be desired.
• Experience working on complex projects is good to have.
• Retail experience is preferred.
• General fixturing, and retail store planning knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to decipher landlord and city codes as it relates to exterior signs.
• Adept in Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and MS Word. Lucernex and Service Channel experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create Construction contract preparation memos and DocuSigns for all assigned projects.
• Ensure Sign Vendors adhere to contract pricing and specifications for all assigned projects.
• Track and adhere to budgets, review, and approve proposals and invoices for all assigned construction and signage projects.
• Award miscellaneous construction projects to General Contractors and/or Sign Vendors.
• Sends kick-off emails for all assigned projects, conducts remote kick-off meetings for applicable project types.
• Track progress of all assigned projects.
• Responsible for adjusting Contractor schedule strategies to ensure timely completion of projects and cost‑effective execution methods.
• Perform related administrative tasks on a regular basis.
