Job summary

Love’s Travel Stops is seeking a friendly and reliable cashier to provide fast, accurate service at our Liberal, KS location. You will handle transactions, assist customers with inquiries, and support deli and general store operations.

No prior experience required; we will teach you. This role emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, and a welcoming customer experience in a fast-paced setting with potential cross-training across departments.

Qualifications

• Prior cash handling or retail experience helpful.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and friendliness with customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with purchase decisions and questions.
• Balance a cash register and complete transactions accurately.
• Ensure proper handling of deli/food items and maintain safety standards.
• Keep the sales area clean and stocked; perform routine cleaning and trash removal.
• Flexibility to support other departments as needed; work in a team environment.
• Lift up to 25 pounds and work in varying temperatures.

They may perform various duties depending on business needs so flexibility and teamwork skills are important. No experience? No problem. We will teach you!

Job Functions

• General customer service duties including, but not limited to, helping customers find items, answering questions about products and services, and addressing customer needs.
• Balancing a cash register by completing customer transactions and offering additional sales opportunities to customers while following all state and local laws.
• Use a variety of methods and technology to ensure proper food safety conditions of our fresh food and deli products.
• Responsibility for cleaning your direct working area, the sales floor, restrooms, showers, gas/diesel pumps, and completing trash runs.
• Additional duties could include cross training in other departments such as Restaurant Services, Fresh Kitchen, Facility Maintenance, and leadership roles.
• Ability to move, lift 25+ pounds. Ability to work in various temperatures.
