Retail Cashier (FT)
We currently have an opportunity available for a full-time cashier in our Surplus City Store. We are looking for a friendly, out-going person to work at our register and provide excellent customer service in the Lavale, MD store.

Job Summary: The Cashier will use cash registers, electronic scanners, and related equipment to conduct monetary transactions with customers.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Greet Customers as they enter the location.
2. Itemizes and totals purchases by scanning every SKU on each item and collects payments by accepting cash, check, or charge payments from customers; makes change for cash customers.
3. Assists customers in locating various products, answers questions, offers assistance, and resolves customer problems.
4. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
5. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

1. Excellent customer service skills.
2. Good verbal communication skills.
3. Ability to operate available equipment such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners.
4. Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make changes and give refunds, according to store policy.
5. Knowledge about the store products and services and customer-related policies.

Education and Experience:

1. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Successful completion of job training period.

Physical Requirements:

1. Prolonged periods standing and working on cash register or related equipment.
2. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
3. Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
