Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Make customers a priority by greeting and acknowledging them as they enter the store, helping on the sales floor, and answering the phone within three rings with a professional greeting.
- Operate the store cash register: handle cash, credit card transactions, process discounts, and balance the register.
- Stock, straighten, rotate, and maintain the cleanliness of the entire store area efficiently and to standard.
- Request assistance from managers for returns, exchanges, and customer complaints.
- Uphold store cleanliness standards by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
- Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership; work cross-functionally to increase communication.
- Utilize safe work practices through awareness and observation.
- Contribute to a hazard-free workplace by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and walkways debris-free.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
- Safeguard agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft; report any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession.
- Adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
