This position will provide leadership, oversight and strategic direction to the Retail Business Technology staff. This is an ideal position for those who enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technological initiatives with business objectives to enhance operational efficiency through innovative digital strategies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Define and establish business processes and requirements for selecting and implementing technology-driven solutions that meet organizational needs.
- Develop comprehensive programs including project plan, budget, and program governance to support adoption and ongoing success.
- Oversee technology programs throughout their lifecycle by monitoring progress and promoting awareness of NCG's technology programs through communications through internal and member co-op communications.
- Ensure NCG’s strategies and plans for retail technology align with and support NCG’s member-facing strategic, tactical, and operational plans and are optimally leveraged to reduce labor and operating expenses.
- Advise the CIO on NCG’s needs for retail technology and its impact across the business portfolio of programs, products and services and recommend appropriate strategies and solutions.
- Develop positive and collaborative working relationships with NCG member co-ops, serving as a trusted partner between users and vendors to resolve issues and deliver technology solutions that support broader member system needs.
- Provide strong and effective leadership and management of retail business technology staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, computer systems or other relevant discipline and minimum five years of progressive responsibility in grocery or health & wellness chain- based retail technology management, including budget management - OR - a minimum of ten years progressive responsibility in grocery or health & wellness chain-based retail technology management, including budget management.
- A minimum of five years’ experience driving complex retail initiatives to superior results, including hands-on experience across a broad range of technologies in high-availability environments.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in the retail business domain using systems supporting stores’ Point of Sale, Back Office, and other business processes within a retail store, preferably in grocery retail.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in negotiating and managing third party IT packed software, and software development vendor relationships.
- Extensive experience working in customer environments where successful projects are the result of gaining agreement from stakeholders.
- Up to 30% business travel required including overnights and weekends.

The salary for this position is $184,608.

- Home Office (Contiguous U.S.): Eligible if within 100 miles of a major airport and has sufficient internet bandwidth and mobile phone service.
- St. Paul, MN Office: Workstations available at 2610 University Ave W, with free parking and access to the Green Line Light Rail (Westgate Station).
