Chief Consulting Engineer/Technologist – Mechanical directs the functional area of mechanical design for the nuclear business segment. Translates concepts, develops strategy, and implements change. Creates programs responsive to external environment. Participates in cross-functional business and cultural development
Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical consultation and leadership during the design process.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in the design review process, as well as presiding over formal design reviews.
  • Promote company wide initiatives related to design quality and reliability.
  • Represent the Chief Engineer’s Office in matters related to design practices and design board activities.
  • Represent GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy in industry groups to ensure codes and standards and regulations are appropriately applied to our designs.
  • Provide technical mentoring and technical training.
  • Support Nuclear Energy and GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy quality initiatives.
  • Lending experience/knowledge to help solve technical problems.
  • Disseminates lessons learned across design organizations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited College or University.
  • At least 15 additional years of experience in an engineering capacity.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • For the United States the preferred work location for this role is at the GE Vernova Nuclear Energy Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
  • For Canada this role requires working two days a week onsite in the Markham Ontario office.
  • For Canada GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering discipline.
  • ACE graduate.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Considered an expert in a specific engineering discipline.

For the United States

The base pay range for this position is $166,000 to $230,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on Friday July 4th

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
