Have you ever wondered what happens inside a bank beyond deposits and withdrawals? As a Retail Banking Intern, you'll gain hands‑on experience working directly with customers and learning how a community bank helps individuals, families, and businesses achieve their financial goals.
Throughout the summer, you'll work alongside experienced Tellers, Bankers, and Branch Managers in one of our branch locations. Interns participate in Rockland Trust's Teller Training Program and spend much of their time supporting day‑to‑day branch operations, serving customers, processing transactions, and learning the fundamentals of retail banking.
Working directly with customers, you'll learn how to support their banking needs, identify solutions, and build relationships that help create a positive banking experience. In addition to your branch responsibilities, you'll participate in project work, networking events, and professional development opportunities designed to broaden your understanding of the banking industry and introduce you to potential career paths within financial services.
Build practical skills that employers value, including customer service, cash handling, communication, relationship building, problem‑solving, teamwork, attention to detail, and professionalism.
Connect with experienced professionals across Rockland Trust and learn about different career paths within banking and financial services.
Gain firsthand exposure to retail banking while learning about opportunities in branch banking, operations, lending, leadership, and other areas of the organization.
Learn how community banks support local individuals, families, businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
Receive structured training, coaching, and feedback while developing foundational banking, customer service, and relationship management skills.
As a Seasonal Employee of Rockland Trust, you'll be eligible to participate in our Temporary Employee Benefits Plan, which includes medical insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
No banking experience is required. Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, campus leadership, cash handling, or other public‑facing roles is helpful but not required.
