Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana invites applicants for a Retail Associate in Luling, LA. This entry-level role supports store operations across backroom, sales floor, and customer service to deliver a welcoming donation experience.

You will handle cashier duties, merchandise sorting and restocking, and maintain a clean, organized store while upholding safety procedures. Strong English communication and dependable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Prior work experience in service industry preferred but not required.
• Must successfully complete Retail training.

Responsibilities

• Perform the general duties necessary for the efficient operation of the store.
• Operate cash register, receive payment for purchases and record sales and other transactions.
• Sort and hang at least 125 garments an hour, with a minimum quality standard of 80%.
• Check, sort and price electrical equipment and small wares and prepare for display on the sales floor.
• Transfer merchandise from the back room to the sales floor.
• Ensure a clean and empty workstation at the end of shift.
• Rotate store merchandise as directed by store management.
• Place garments, housewares on proper floor racks and restock as necessary.
• Remove empty hangers from racks and return to production area.
• Assist in security by staying aware of customers' activities and reporting suspicions.
• Dispose of trash and unusable merchandise into the outside dumpster and break down boxes for recycling.
• Keep the store clean and hazard-free by vacuuming, mopping and dusting, including bathrooms.
• Keep aisles free from debris in production and sales areas.
• Greet donors and assist them in bringing donations into the store; issue receipts.
• Assist customers with general information.
• Follow company policies and safety procedures.
• Attend regularly, as scheduled.
