General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience by greeting with eye contact and a smile, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring proper merchandise presentation. Tasks include engaging in assigned duties during all hours and performing various functions across the store as needed.

Essential Functions

• Prioritize safety and maintain awareness to create a secure shopping environment.
• Greet and assist customers courteously, including helping at registers and answering questions.
• Handle customer issues politely, escalate when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including cleaning and merchandise recovery.
• Support loss prevention and follow all policies regarding merchandise and transactions.
• Represent Ross Inc. with integrity, safeguarding confidential information.
• Work efficiently to maximize productivity, following store best practices.

Competencies

• Manage work processes, collaborate, communicate effectively, and demonstrate leadership by example.

Qualifications and Skills

• Effective communication skills and basic math skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time.
• Ability to lift and push over 20-25 pounds as needed.
• Use of store equipment, ladders, and other supplies.
