Job summary

Goodwill Industries of South Florida is seeking upbeat retail team members to provide friendly customer service while processing donations and conducting sales in our store.

You will handle stocking, sorting, cashiering, and merchandising, work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and help maintain a clean, welcoming shopping environment for the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to operate a cash register and handle money accurately.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors and accept donations, enter basic donor info, and thank donors.
• Sort, hang, and price donated clothing and household items; sort and prepare merchandise.
• Operate cashier station, process sales, and handle refunds or discounts per policy.
• Maintain clean store areas including bathrooms, floors, shelves, and fixtures.
• Assist customers with pricing, fitting rooms, and store operations questions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Receive donations: greet donors, accept and unload donated materials, enter customer general information into a smart device (such as a phone or tablet), and thank donors for their donated items.
• Processing: sort, separate, and hang clothing and household items. Sort, test, clean, and mark small appliances, housewares, shoes, seasonal items, and other assorted merchandise.
• Cashiering: Conduct sales transactions and maintain control of cash and credit card transactions by following proper procedures for voids, discounts, refunds, checks, and credit card payments.
• Cleaning duties (including but not limited to) bathrooms, floors, shelves, windows, break room, store fixtures, fitting rooms, dock area, store exterior, and merchandise counters. Report issues that require maintenance repairs.
• Customer service activities (including but not limited to) customer assistance, pricing merchandise, fitting room, offering recycling bags, explaining store operations, and other sales techniques that may enhance the store's sales and community image.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
