Job summary

Goodwill Industries of South Florida in Miami seeks a retail team member to support daily store operations. You will assist customers, process donations, stock merchandise, manage cash handling, clean shopping areas, and contribute to a welcoming shopping environment.

This role requires a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, with opportunities to engage with the community and develop retail skills. Training is provided to support product knowledge and customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Receive donations, greet donors, unload items, enter donor information on a device, and thank donors.
• Process and sort clothing and household items; sort, test, clean, and mark small appliances, housewares, shoes, seasonal items.
• Handle sales at cashier, manage cash and card transactions per procedures for voids, discounts, refunds, checks, and payments.
• Clean bathrooms, floors, shelves, windows, break room, store fixtures, fitting rooms, dock area, exterior, and merchandise counters; report maintenance issues.
• Assist customers, price merchandise, assist fitting rooms, offer recycling bags, explain store operations, and employ sales techniques to boost store performance.
• Able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Receive donations: greet donors, accept and unload donated materials, enter customer general information into a smart device (such as a phone or tablet), and thank donors for their donated items.
• Processing: sort, separate, and hang clothing and household items. Sort, test, clean, and mark small appliances, housewares, shoes, seasonal items, and other assorted merchandise.
• Cashiering: Conduct sales transactions and maintain control of cash and credit card transactions by following proper procedures for voids, discounts, refunds, checks, and credit card payments.
• Cleaning duties (including but not limited to) bathrooms, floors, shelves, windows, break room, store fixtures, fitting rooms, dock area, store exterior, and merchandise counters. Report issues that require maintenance repairs.
• Customer service activities (including but not limited to) customer assistance, pricing merchandise, fitting room, offering recycling bags, explaining store operations, and other sales techniques that may enhance the store's sales and community image.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
