Job summary

Goodwill Industries of South Florida is seeking a store associate to assist customers, manage donations, merchandise items, and support daily store operations.

Responsibilities include greeting donors, processing donations, cashiering, stocking, cleaning, and keeping the sales floor neat while offering friendly service. Flexible scheduling including nights and weekends is required.

Responsibilities

• Receive donations: greet donors, accept and unload donated materials, enter customer general information into a smart device (such as a phone or tablet), and thank donors for their donated items.
• Processing: sort, separate, and hang clothing and household items. Sort, test, clean, and mark small appliances, housewares, shoes, seasonal items, and other assorted merchandise.
• Cashiering: Conduct sales transactions and maintain control of cash and credit card transactions by following proper procedures for voids, discounts, refunds, checks, and credit card payments.
• Cleaning duties (including but not limited to) bathrooms, floors, shelves, windows, break room, store fixtures, fitting rooms, dock area, store exterior, and merchandise counters. Report issues that require maintenance repairs.
• Customer service activities (including but not limited to) customer assistance, pricing merchandise, fitting room, offering recycling bags, explaining store operations, and other sales techniques that may enhance the store’s sales and community image.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
