General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience by greeting them courteously, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring proper merchandise presentation. The role involves engaging in various tasks across the store as needed, including additional duties to meet customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Prioritize safety, practicing safe behaviors at all times.
• Create a secure shopping environment by maintaining awareness, clearing exits, and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Show respect and courtesy to all customers and associates; recognize fellow team members.
• Assist customers, operate registers, and handle inquiries politely and knowledgeably.
• Respond promptly to customer service needs and escalate issues when necessary.
• Support the Ross brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks regularly to maintain hygiene and store appearance.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
• Ensure merchandise is well-organized and merchandised according to guidelines.
• Expedite merchandise to the sales floor efficiently, ensuring proper presentation.
• Understand loss prevention policies and merchandise protection standards.
• Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, and follow all store policies regarding transactions.
• Work efficiently, maximizing productivity and minimizing steps in workflow.

Physical Requirements / ADA

• Use of store equipment, standing, walking, and moving around the store.
• Bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and lifting over 25 pounds regularly.

• Stockroom shifts require lifting over 20 pounds regularly.
