General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. This includes making eye contact, smiling, greeting all Customers courteously, treating fellow Associates with respect, following all company standards, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring proper merchandise presentation. The Associate will perform various tasks across store areas as needed to meet customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors and maintaining a secure shopping environment.
• Maintain a clutter-free sales floor and report unsafe conditions.
• Show respect and courtesy to Customers and Associates; recognize fellow staff members.
• Assist Customers with merchandise, answer questions, and operate registers efficiently.
• Handle Customer issues courteously, calling Store Leadership when necessary.
• Support the Company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Adhere to dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
• Ensure store is organized, merchandised, and replenished according to standards.
• Expedite merchandise receipts to the sales floor promptly, maintaining familiarity with products and brands.
• Understand loss prevention policies and merchandise protection standards.
• Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, and follow all policies regarding transactions and merchandise.
• Work efficiently, minimizing steps and touches to maximize productivity.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

• Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Leadership in a friendly manner.
• Basic mathematical skills used in retail settings.

Physical Requirements/Ada

• Ability to operate store equipment including registers and PCs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly, with some tasks requiring lifting over 20 pounds.
• Use of janitorial and store equipment as needed.
