Job summary

OTG Management is seeking a Retail Associate to join our airport retail team. You will greet guests, operate the POS system, and assist with merchandising, restocking, and product recommendations to enhance the guest experience.

The role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment at ORD. Prior cash handling and English fluency are essential, with ServSafe certification pursued within 30 days of hire.

The Retail Associate plays a critical role in delivering the OTG guest experience by combining exceptional customer service with effective merchandising and inventory support. This position is responsible for operating the point-of-sale system, assisting guests with purchases, maintaining product displays, restocking merchandise, ensuring product freshness, keeping the retail environment clean, organized, and visually appealing. In This Role, You Will:

• Greet guests quickly, professionally, and with a welcoming attitude.
• Process cash, credit card, voucher, and other approved transactions accurately and efficiently while adhering to OTG cash-handling procedures.
• Educate guests on products, promotions, and offerings while making recommendations to enhance their experience.
• Maintain strong product knowledge and share product information with guests and fellow crewmembers.
• Bag purchases and assist guests with retail needs.
• Execute merchandising plans and maintain attractive, organized displays that support sales and the guest experience.
• Restock shelves, coolers, displays, and sales areas while monitoring inventory levels.
• “Place appropriate orders to maintain expected merchandising standards.”
• Rotate products to ensure freshness, minimize waste, and maximize product visibility.
• Maintain display items, shelving, and retail fixtures in a clean and orderly condition.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment by cleaning shelves, displays, workstations, floors, and guest areas.
• Assist with barista and other retail support functions as required.
• Maintain knowledge of airport terminals, dining concepts, and retail offerings to assist travelers with recommendations and information.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Fully conversational in English.
• Comfortable operating cash point of sales system and company assets responsibly.
• Ability to read labels, product information, and merchandising guides accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while supporting a team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and push/pull merchandise carts.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Must obtain ServSafe Certification (or equivalent) within 30 days of hire, where required.
• Must be available to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and inclement weather conditions.
