Job summary

Discovery Land Company’s Homewood Mountain & Lake Club in California is seeking a Retail Associate to join the Retail Department and deliver exceptional guest service while driving retail sales.

You will engage guests, recommend products, maintain product knowledge, and support merchandising and operations in a fast-paced resort setting.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and professional demeanor to serve members, guests, and team members.
• Proficiency with email, web apps, Microsoft Office and digital tools; RTP desirable.
• Experience in hospitality, ski resorts, or related field preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage guests in a friendly, professional manner.
• Help guests identify products based on needs and preferences.
• Maintain knowledge of merchandise, promotions, pricing, services.
• Anticipate guest needs and offer information and solutions.
• Resolve questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Use resort sales systems including RTP and troubleshoot basic functionality.
• Keep Retail Shop organized per Department Operating Plan.
• Assist with merchandising, stocking, inventory, and presentation.
• Snow removal as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California.

Homewood Mountain & Lake Club is seeking a Retail Associate to join the Retail Department.

Job Summary:

The Retail Associate provides exceptional guest service while helping guests select products that best meet their needs. This role drives retail sales through active engagement, suggestive selling, product knowledge, and a welcoming, professional approach. The Retail Associate is expected to create a positive and memorable guest experience by anticipating guest needs, providing knowledgeable recommendations, and resolving questions or concerns promptly and accurately.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Welcome, greet, and engage guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Assist guests in identifying and selecting products based on their needs, preferences, and intended use.
• Maintain current knowledge of merchandise, resort products, promotions, pricing, and relevant services.
• Anticipate guest needs and proactively offer assistance, information, and solutions.
• Respond to questions and concerns and resolve complaints promptly, accurately, and professionally.
• Maintain proficiency with resort sales, processing, and database technology platforms, including RTP, and troubleshoot basic system functionality as needed.
• Ensure the Retail Shop is maintained and operated in accordance with its Department Operating Plan (DOP).
• Assist with merchandising, stocking, inventory organization, and maintaining appropriate product presentation.
• Snow removal as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
• Proficiency with standard office technology, including email, web-based applications, Microsoft Office, and other digital communication tools. Previous experience with RTP desirable.
• Previous experience in hospitality, ski resorts, or a related field is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $21-$23 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
