Our Retail Stores support and even provide funding to different Goodwill programs that assist people with obtaining meaningful employment and bettering their overall quality of life.
As a Retail Associate, you would be an essential part of ensuring the success of our stores and Goodwill’s mission. When a retail team member assists a Goodwill shopper find a treasure on the shelves, they aren’t just providing excellent customer service but also helping others in the community.

Responsibilities:
Cashiering Duties:
1. Perform retail sales functions according to the Sales Procedures Manual.
2. Operate cash register system
3. Sell merchandise to customers while providing excellent service.
4. Greet customers as they enter the stores.
5. Follow all required scripts while interacting with customers.
6. Thank every customer for supporting Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut’s mission.
Material Processing Duties:
1. Process goods, separating the sellable merchandise from the unsalable.
2. Place salable clothing on the proper hangers in adherence to the rotation cycle.
3. Sort and hang clothing on racks in a timely manner meeting the daily goals set forth by your manager.
4. Track the daily number of bins sorted and/or totes produced.
6. Ensure the bale process is complete on a weekly basis.
1. Accept donations, offer receipts and provide exceptional donor service.
2. Thank all donors for supporting the mission of Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut.
3. Track number of donations using appropriate documentation.
4. Maintain clean, orderly fixtures of clothing, bins, showcases and windows.
5. Perform stock duties such as merchandise rotation, hanger change, display work and keep dressing rooms neat and orderly.
6. Perform housekeeping duties to maintain good appearance and safe conditions.
7. Perform shipping and receiving duties such as unloading shipment truck.
8. Keep entire work site neat, clean and organized.
Overall Duties:
1. Provide customer service in promoting merchandise.
2. Complete assigned duties on daily task list.
3. Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work environment.
4. Recover the sales area throughout the day
5. Perform 10 minute drills daily as requested by your manager.
6. Participate in baling of clothing.
7. Other duties as assigned.
