Job summary

For Now at The Current in Boston is seeking a Retail Associate to join our Seaport popup. You will engage customers, process transactions, and support on-site customization and engraving during the holiday season.

Based in a Nantucket-inspired brand, you’ll help guests explore apparel and handmade items, while learning engraving techniques and delivering friendly, memorable service in a dynamic retail setting.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays and events.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Process transactions at the register and provide a smooth checkout.
• Assist with returns, exchanges, and inquiries.
• Maintain clean, organized cashwrap and stock levels.
• Move product from cashwrap to floor and manage frontstock inventory.
• Greet customers and provide product recommendations and customization advice.
• Learn and operate the engraving machine.
• Receive and process new inventory; fulfill online orders accurately.
• Replenish floor inventory and keep storage organized.

Job description

Title: Retail Associate, For Now x Maker Scholar @ The Current – 100 Seaport Blvd, Ste 85F, Boston

Season Opening: September 24 – January 31, 11-7 Mon-Sat, 12-6 Sun

Schedule: Varies, general structure of 2-3 days/week for 9-hour shifts

Compensation: Range of $22 - $25/hr based on experience

Overview

For Now is a Nantucket-based lifestyle brand For lazy days and fancy nights (and vice versa).

At our Seaport pop-up, you’ll find cozy apparel, handmade accessories, and an excess of irreverent sweatshirts because we just can’t help ourselves.

This holiday season, we’ve teamed up with Maker / Scholar to bring a playful “make it your own” spirit to The Current through on-site engraving and rotating customization events—embroidery, illustration, and more surprises. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on retail, creative environments, and meaningful customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage transactions efficiently at the register, ensuring a smooth checkout experience.
• Provide excellent customer service, assisting with returns, exchanges, and inquiries.
• Keep the cashwrap area clean, organized, and well stocked.
• Maintain the flow of product from the cashwrap to its proper location, and own the distribution of frontstock inventory and relevant supplies.

2.Customization Floor (Customer Engagement & Merchandising)

• Greet and assist customers, offer product recommendations and customization advice, as well as introduce customers to the For Now brand and our partners.
• Keep the floor organized, restocked, and visually appealing.
• Retrieve sizes from backstock as needed and maintain overall store cleanliness
• Learn and operate the engraving machine (with dedicated training)
• Receive, unpack, and process new inventory.
• Fulfill and pack online orders efficiently and accurately.
• Replenish floor inventory from backstock as needed.
• Keep the storage area organized, labeled, and easy to navigate.
