Family Dollar in Mesa, AZ is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, support opening and closing procedures, and ensure merchandise is stocked and displayed to company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs with frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize merchandise and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and storefront fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment.
• Maintain cleanliness of bathrooms, floors, and rest areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
