Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Thibodaux, LA is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, merchandising, scheduling, and customer service. You should know product areas well and be ready to lead staff in the Manager’s absence.

Responsibilities include supervising personnel, protecting assets, and maintaining high standards of store performance and customer service. Reports to Store Manager and works in a non-exempt, hourly role.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear/apparel.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage a team and meet goals.
• Self-starter with initiative and attention to detail.
• Team-player focused on outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering and scheduling.
• Act in store manager’s absence and supervise staff.
• Contribute to recruiting, training and evaluating personnel.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales stats and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department duties and standards are met.
• Deliver exceptional customer service per manuals and policies.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise in-store.
