Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Valdosta, GA to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily functions, help customers, and ensure shelves and displays are well-maintained.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, processing directives, ordering merchandise, and loss prevention. You will lead and train store associates while maintaining a safe, friendly environment for customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Move merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked and organized store, stockroom, and safety standards.
• Protect company assets including store cash.
• Enforce policies and safety guidelines and train store associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of store, restrooms, floors, and trash disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
