Job summary

Dollar Tree in Tarboro, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure seasonal areas are well maintained.

Responsibilities include opening and closing procedures, following corporate directives, maintaining displays, training Store Associates, protecting assets, and keeping the store clean and compliant with policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs from floor to above shoulder height and meet physical requirements
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll and scheduling
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of store, bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal
• Other duties as assigned
• Note: this position is part-time
