Job summary

Ace Hardware | Jones Petroleum location in the Monticello area is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily operations in the Store Manager’s absence. You will drive sales, ensure product availability, and lead a team focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities include training staff, managing schedules, coordinating merchandising and vendor relations, and maintaining store standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's preferred.
• Minimum 1 year leadership experience in retail or customer service.
• Bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred.
• Valid in-state driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train and develop store staff with growth goals.
• Review evaluations and address issues with urgency.
• Supervise staff to meet sales goals and follow procedures.
• Delegate workload to meet merchandising and visual standards.
• Lead associate evaluations and provide growth feedback.
• Execute merchandising updates per standards and collaborate with vendors.
• Forecast staffing needs and schedule accordingly.
• Monitor payroll within budget and adjust as needed.
• Develop and implement in-store marketing based on needs.
