Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Jacksonville to support daily store operations and customer service while developing team members. You will help with merchandise organization, opening/closing duties, and adherence to corporate directives.

The role emphasizes loss prevention, payroll/scheduling, and a positive, safe work environment. The ideal candidate has strong communication and teamwork skills, prior store management experience, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and stock merchandise from delivery to floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Keep store and stockroom well-organized and clean.
• Protect assets including store cash and loss prevention measures.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates under Store Manager guidance.
• Foster a safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
