Position Overview:
The Assistant Team Leader provides leadership for the successful operation of the entire front-end of the store. The ATL creates and leads a sales team that is passionate about selling merchandise and ensuring a good customer experience. Responsibilities include associate development, customer service, asset protection, and store maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the Store Team Leader with managing payroll budgets, expenses, store banking, shrink reduction, and completing related reports to meet financial and operational goals.
- Ensure store standards, Redbook compliance, and company programs meet operational expectations.
- Maintain the front-end, entrance, and exterior of the building.
- Assign daily tasks to associates and monitor productivity.
- Organize and maintain office areas.
- Support Door to Floor process and merchandising initiatives.
- Complete monthly Operational Risk Assessment (ORA) and alarm tests; ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Lead monthly safety meetings and assess changes from these meetings.
- Ensure customer service standards meet company expectations.
- Perform price changes as required.
- Coach, train, develop, evaluate, supervise, and schedule store associates.
- Perform all Team Leader functions for opening and closing the store when needed.
- Lead initiatives regarding donation programs and Ollie’s Army membership.
- Assist in hiring, recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and onboarding staff to meet staffing needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business management preferred.
- 1-2 years retail supervisory experience in a mid-size to large retail or service business.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Effective management skills in a professional environment.
- Sound judgment and confidentiality awareness.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of industry terms and processes.

Physical Requirements:
