Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Camden, SC. You will assist with day-to-day functions, help organize merchandise, and ensure store standards are maintained.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Part-time schedule may apply, with responsibilities including opening/closing, staff supervision, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks described in the duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related store communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts; loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean including restrooms, floors, and trash removal; ensure neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
