Job summary

Veronica Beard is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Palo Alto store. You will support the Store Manager to maximize sales, provide an exceptional shopping experience, and oversee operations as Manager-on-Duty in the GM’s absence.

The role emphasizes clienteling, staff development, and maintaining brand standards on the floor. The position requires at least 2 years in retail management in women’s apparel, with flexibility for nights and weekends and strong communication and observational

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years retail management position/experience in women’s apparel (or related field).
• Ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
• Strong verbal and communication skills.
• Strong observation skills – identifying and assessing customer and employee behavior, reactions, floor awareness, etc.
• Ability to retain and utilize data, i.e. names, merchandise, information, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assists Store Manager in maximizing sales and delivering a superior shopping experience.
• Acts as Store Manager on Duty in the absence of the General Manager.
• Oversees floor supervision to achieve selling standards and strong customer service.
• Trains associates on product knowledge, selling skills and operations.
• Manages payroll costs, cash handling, inventory, and loss prevention measures.
• Ensures store standards, merchandising, and visual presentation reflect current directions.
