The Assistant Manager assists in daily store operations, merchandising, scheduling and customer service, and steps in for the Store Manager as needed. The position requires 1–3 years in retail and a strong focus on teamwork and meeting store goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Assist in overall personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Be aware of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments.
• Direct staff to ensure each department’s responsibilities and standards are completed.
• Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Assure quality customer service is maintained.
• Perform general administrative duties and train in Store Manager’s responsibilities.
• Produce and deliver extraordinary customer service per the manuals, including helping customers on entry and during peak periods.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Uphold all company policies and procedures as listed in manuals and memos.
• Protect assets and financial information by ensuring internal controls and reporting potential fraud risk.
