Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. in Sioux City, IA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and help supervise and train Store Associates. Responsibilities include opening/closing, executing directives, maintaining displays, and ensuring safety and policy adherence while delivering friendly, high-quality service to customers and leaders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ability to read, interpret, and explain operating directives.
• Previous store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restock bathrooms, sweep/mop floors, take out trash, and keep areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
