Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Newberry, South Carolina is seeking an Assistant Manager to support store operations, merchandise presentation, and outstanding customer service. You will partner with the Store Manager to drive sales, train staff, and ensure policy adherence in all departments.

In this role you will act as the store lead in the Manager’s absence, help with scheduling, inventory awareness, and daily admin duties while modeling a customer-focused selling culture.

Qualifications

• Retail experience preferred, footwear and athletic apparel ideal.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and team-management abilities.
• Self-starter with initiative and attention to detail.
• Commitment to outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in controlling assets of the store.
• Help establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, and scheduling.
• Assumes responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Participate in recruiting, training, and evaluating staff.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers across departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales stats, and expenses to help profitability.
• Coordinate staff to meet department standards and customer service.
• Ensure quality customer service per policies and manuals.
