Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC in New London, CT invites an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee store operations, drive customer service, and develop team members. This role supports the Store Manager in daily activities and ensures a positive shopping environment.

You will assist with staffing, merchandise flow from truck to floor, stocking shelves, handling store paperwork, and upholding safety and company policies while delivering friendly, efficient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, payroll/scheduling records, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
