Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. The role involves assisting with merchandise organization, opening/closing procedures, and ensuring store standards and safety guidelines are followed.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and store-management experience in retail or related environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized store areas according to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and supervise/train store associates as needed.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and team members.
• Other duties as assigned.
