Job summary

Dollar Tree in Franklin, IN seeks an Assistant Store Manager to assist with store operations, customer service, and team development. This role supports opening/closing procedures, merchandise flow, and loss prevention to ensure smooth daily operations.

The candidate should have strong communication skills, retail management experience preferred, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height; frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain stocked, clean, and organized sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure all associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and team.
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, trash removal, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
