Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Iowa LLC in Adel, IA is seeking a part-time Store Associate to support daily store operations and deliver friendly service to customers. You will assist with merchandising, assist customers, and help manage opening/closing duties and daily tasks under the Store Manager's guidance.

Responsibilities include stocking shelves, processing shipments, maintaining store cleanliness, handling basic cash-handling duties, and supporting loss prevention efforts while following

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills; team-oriented atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process all corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy and other communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention
• Maintain areas of the store, including a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation
• Other duties as assigned
