Job summary

Foot Locker is seeking an Assistant Store Manager (ASM) in a dynamic retail environment in the Sacramento area. This role partners with the Store Manager to drive sales, coach staff, and ensure smooth store operations.

You will lead with energy and ownership, developing a high-performing team, delivering excellent customer experiences, and upholding store standards and safety protocols. This position offers growth opportunities within a world-class sports company.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of retail leadership or key-holding experience.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and engage a diverse team.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to take ownership.
• Basic understanding of retail KPIs and operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example on the sales floor with energy, confidence, and problem-solving in every customer interaction.
• Coach the team to deliver great service and keep customers excited to shop.
• Support sales goals by staying engaged on the floor and helping the team close the loop with customers.
• Help manage daily store operations including opening/closing, cash handling, and floor coverage.
• Move with purpose by keeping the store organized, customer ready, and running smoothly.
• Follow safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures to protect customers, teammates, and product.
• Take an owner/operator mindset by addressing issues, maintaining standards, and taking ownership of store execution.
• Leverage retail technology and digital tools to enhance the customer experience and support efficient store operations.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when scheduled, providing confident leadership and clear direction.
