Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Manassas, VA to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily activities, organize merchandise, and help supervise staff while maintaining a safe and friendly environment.

The role emphasizes customer service excellence, strong communication, and effective teamwork in a fast-paced retail setting. This part-time position requires physical capability and a commitment to store standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor as needed.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities and communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for maximum effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and handling payroll and cash deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
