Job summary

Family Dollar in Warwick, RI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help supervise daily tasks, organize merchandise, and ensure store standards while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for customers and employees.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, coaching Associates, handling stock, loss prevention, and executing corporate directives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and manage stockroom organization
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll duties, and cash handling, and support loss prevention
