Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Pennsylvania LLC in Harrisburg, PA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily operations, lead a small team, and deliver excellent customer service. You will assist with inventory, merchandising, opening/closing procedures, and store compliance to company standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, prior retail or store management experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to develop staff while maintaining a safe, welcoming

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform regular physical activities including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention
• Maintain store areas, including a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom, to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Keep the store clean and presentable including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness
• Other duties as assigned
