Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. Part time

Key duties include opening and closing procedures, merchandise flow, payroll and scheduling, loss prevention, and training Store Associates, while maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting environment for customers. This role requires strong communication and leadership in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and must be able to read and explain directives.
• Experience in store management in retail/grocery/drug store environment preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain storefront fixtures and displays for promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable, including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
