Hibbett Retail, Inc. in Vienna, West Virginia is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations. You will be knowledgeable across departments and ensure adherence to policies while delivering outstanding service. The role includes supervision in the Store Manager’s absence and training of staff.

The position is non-exempt, hourly, and requires promoting merchandise, managing inventory, and maintaining profitability across departments.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assumes responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Consult with the Store Manager in establishing action plans to accomplish departmental and overall store responsibilities.
• Assist in overall personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
• Direct staff to ensure each department’s responsibilities and standards are completed.
• Produce extraordinary customer service highlighted in the customer service manual and assist customers during peak periods.
