Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Akron, OH is seeking an Assistant Store Manager who can lead daily operations, supervise staff, and drive excellent customer service in our thrift retail environment. You will assist the Store Manager with scheduling, training, and performance reviews, handle cash procedures, and ensure accurate donations, processing and sales reporting.

Flexibility, reliability, and a community-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

Supervisory and training experience in a retail environment.
Experience with cash register procedures and banking reconciliation.
Knowledge of stock control, merchandising, and display.
High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Assist Store Manager with interviewing, scheduling, performance appraisals and disciplinary action.
Direct, supervise, and train retail staff in donations, processing and sales.
Operate the cash register and POS system accurately.
Perform opening/closing procedures, banking, daily reconciliation and deposits.
Complete reports including donation counts, daily statements and store audits.
