Job description

Position Summary

Responsible for supporting the Store Manager in all aspects of the retail store, including sales, customer service, operations, human resources, training, visual merchandising, and loss prevention.

Job Title: Assistant Store Manager

Department: Retail

Reports To: Store Manager

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Service: Ensures each customer receives the highest level of customer service.
  2. Human Resources: Notifies the Store Manager of hiring needs and floor coverage shortages, assists in hiring, manages staff scheduling, understands and enforces company policies, and controls payroll budget.
  3. Operations: Makes deposits, manages cash handling procedures, maintains inventory accuracy through spot checks, and ensures store displays and organization meet company standards.
  4. Loss Prevention: Stays aware of loss prevention measures and shares feedback from staff and customers.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong managerial and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and selling skills
  • Product knowledge and understanding of POS systems
  • Knowledge of company history, structure, and target market
  • Competitive awareness

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work varied hours
  • Climb ladders and lift over 25 lbs occasionally

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of retail management experience
