Job summary

Five Below is seeking an associate for an hourly role focused on loss prevention and front-line store operations. The candidate will support safety, security, and customer service initiatives while upholding company policies on a daily basis.

The position requires strong communication, basic security understanding, and the ability to stand for long periods while assisting customers and team members across shifts.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer service skills.
• Must communicate with all levels of staff and management.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of retail Loss Prevention experience.
• Basic understanding of retail or security.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
• Stand/walk the sales floor for 8 hours.
• Lift and carry 20 lbs.
• Regular time and attendance is essential.
• Ability to work independently.
• Understand Five Below policy and procedure.
• General product knowledge in key departments.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to shortage reduction/ Investigations.
• Work with the General Manager to ensure that all employees are following policies and procedures.
• Responsible for maintaining the employee entrance, where applicable.
• Keep track of all packages delivered through the employee entrance, excluding normal scheduled shipments.
• Conducts store physical security checks and makes recommendations for ways to prevent loss.
• Performs figure 8's in store and is constantly moving throughout store.
