Job summary

Role Description

The Retail Accountant role at Nexus of Work is a part-time, remote position responsible for managing accounting activities related to retail operations. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records for retail transactions. The Retail Accountant will support the preparation of financial statements and reporting, monitor revenue and expense trends, and ensure compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards. This role will collaborate with finance and operational teams to provide analytical insights on retail performance and assist with periodic audits and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills for interpreting retail performance data, identifying trends, and supporting decision-making.
• Candidates should possess experience with Journal Entries (Accounting), including posting, reconciling, and maintaining general ledger accuracy.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of Finance principles relevant to retail operations, such as revenue recognition, cost tracking, and margin analysis.
• Candidates should possess skills in preparing and reviewing Financial Statements and Financial Reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets; familiarity with cloud-based financial tools is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote, part-time setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
